System Operators for Textiles

On 16 October 2025, the revised version of the Waste Framework Directive came into force. As a result, all Member States are required to implement Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for textiles latest on 17 April 2028.

In connection with the new waste stream “used textiles,” existing system operators are increasingly encountering new actors. Non-profit organizations play a key role in local reuse activities, particularly in the collection of used textiles. Moreover, preparation for reuse – unlike in other waste streams – is the dominant recovery method in this field.

System Operators for Packaging

On 11 February 2025, the European Packaging Regulation entered into force.
