A large number of measures have been identified to implement the transformation towards a circular textile economy.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most important amendments is the introduction of product requirements for textiles under the Ecodesign Regulation. The first work plan, published in April 2025, provides that <strong>product-specific requirements for textile<\/strong>s are to be adopted in 2027. In addition to ecological criteria, future obligations will also include the <strong>digital product passport and the ban on destroying unsold goods<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, with the adoption of the revised Waste Framework Directive, the <strong>introduction of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for textiles<\/strong> <strong>is expected from 2028<\/strong>.
